Claritas vase 170 mm, clear

Timo Sarpaneva's Claritas collection was created at the Iittala glass factory 1983. In six weeks, 63 unique art glass sculptures were created for the original Claritas collection. The Claritas vase manufactured by Iittala is a true work of art made of clear glass.

The Claritas glass sculptures are free-blown without mould. The manufacturing process is only successful with the cooperation of glass experts. A single sculpture is completed step by step in the hands of an experienced glass master while glass blowers assist on various stages of the process. After processing the hot glass mass it is then gradually cooled down to reduce stresses in the glass. After cooling, the glass piece is polished to its final form.
