FDB Møbler’s J83B bench is an attractive wooden piece designed by Jørgen Bækmark in the 1950s. Featuring an angular oak frame with paper yarn seat, the organic look of the J83B bench serves many different styles and spaces – it can be used, for example, as a hallway bench or extra seat in the living room or kitchen, and its appearance goes together with the armchair and dining chairs of the J80 collection.

Danish FDB Møbler is strongly rooted in the icons of Danish furniture design. FDB, the Danish Consumers’ Co-operative Society, was founded in 1940 to produce functionalist and democratic design for ordinary people – thanks to the new industrial production, FDB could manufacture high-quality furniture at low prices. During the next decades, designers such as Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther created numerous timeless pieces of Danish furniture design. FDB closed its factory in 1980, but in 2013 the Danish Coop launched FDB Møbler and started re-releasing some of the most beloved products of the mid-century Danish design. In addition to the classics, FDB Møbler creates new furniture inspired by the old collections.
