Moomin mug, Midsummer

Arabia’s lovely Midsummer mug features Snorkmaiden, Mymble and Fillyjonk picking flowers for midsummer spells. The artwork was inspired by Tove Jansson’s book Moominsummer Madness from 1954. The illustrator, Tove Slotte, has used a red outline to create a light overall appearance and a fresh contrast to the green shades of the meadow. The ceramic mug has a simple design with white interior, and its capacity is 3 dl. The Moomin mugs are great for serving tea, coffee as well as hot chocolate and cheer up any table setting.

New products of the Moomin Seasonals collection are released twice a year and they are available for a limited time only. First pieces of Arabia’s Moomin tableware came out already in the 1950s, and the large-scale production began in 1990. All the illustrations are done by Tove Slotte who draws inspiration from the original drawings by Tove Jansson. The form of the collection comes from Arabia’s timeless, ceramic Teema tableware designed by Kaj Franck.

Moomin Arabia is a collection of Moomin products by Arabia, one of Finland's most renowned brands. The residents of Moominvalley first appeared as ceramic designs in the 1950s when artist Tove Jansson created Moomin-themed dishes and her mother, Signe "Ham" Hammarsten Jansson, crafted ceramic Moomin figures. In the 1990s, Moomin mugs designed by illustrator Tove Slotte quickly became favourites among both children and adults. Since then, Moomin Arabia products have been cherished as delightful everyday items and valuable collectibles worldwide. Today, the collection includes not only dishware but also textiles.
