Moomin creator Tove Jansson was born on the ninth day of August, when Moomin Day is celebrated. The illustration for the Moomin Day 2021 mug is based on an illustration by Tove Jansson's Magic Winter from 1957 and the songbook Visor från Mumindale from 1993: The river flowing through the Moomin Valley has melted.
