The Eames Side Chair DSW (Dining Height Side Chair Wood Base) was presented as a design by Charles and Ray Eames in 1948 at the 'International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design', won second prize and went into production only a short time later. The organically shaped seat was initially made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin, which proved to be particularly easy to shape, comfortable and pleasant to the touch.
