The 40/4 chair was designed by David Rowland in 1964. The chair has won several design awards and has been featured in collections and museums around the world. The chair is appreciated for its elegant lines, excellent ergonomics and unparalleled stackability, hence the chair's name: 40 chairs fit in a 4-foot-high stack.
