In most if not in all of his designs, Tapio Wirkkala took his inspiration from the surrounding nature. This is one example with a beautiful figurative sculptural "leaf". The way it's refined so that it showcases the layers is just beautiful. Tapio Wirkkala was truly one of the best designers to have ever lived. He had the ability to manipulate different materials with remarkable abilities and precision.
